About Us
Coastal Foodshed is proud to offer Copicut Farms poultry on their behalf. Please find their mission statement below, found on their website:
Farm Mission Statement: To provide Massachusetts communities with the healthiest and highest quality meats and eggs possible while treating our animals and our environment with the utmost respect and care.

Practices
Pasture-Raising: All of our animals are raised outdoors, and have constant access to our chemical-free pastures where they are free to forage for grass, legumes, and insects throughout all but the harshest winter months. Pasture-raised poultry, pork, and eggs, and grass-fed lamb are a healthier choice, containing less cholesterol, less saturated fat, more omega-3, and higher levels of essential vitamins and nutrients than their non-pastured counterparts.
Community Involvement: Last year we donated over 500 dozen eggs and 300 pounds of poultry to local food pantries and community fundraisers. We are active members of several local and regional farm advocacy organizations, and regularly volunteer our time at workshops intended to enhance the viability of agriculture in Massachusetts.
Humane Processing: We designed, built, and operate our own State-licensed poultry slaughtering facility. This allows us to maintain an extremely high level of food safety and ensure that our animals are treated in the most humane manner possible throughout all stages of their lives. Our pork and lamb is processed at the most reputable local Animal Welfare-Approved facilities under USDA inspection.
Transparency: We are committed to being 100% honest and transparent in all of our farm practices. Visit our booth at a market to ask our staff questions about our animal husbandry practices. Check us out on social media (Instagram or Facebook) to see pictures and videos of the farm and our animals.
